ABOUT: Celebrating Lunar New Year With Resilience
Published in the Port City Review's 2023 annual, this illustration celebrates the Lunar New Year, expressing hope in a time when Asian American communities confronted messages of hate. In the Year of the Tiger, these communities faced a rise in hate crimes, fueled by stereotypes and misinformation following the pandemic. This piece was inspired by celebration and the resilience seen in challenging times.
This work received an Adobe Digital Edge Award nomination and made the Illustration shortlist in 2023.
